Well, It's been an interesting week in Bloggerville. Ive been getting some cool people visiting my site. I don't want this to become a site about ethics, but I thought I'd create a post about Karma and Forgiveness. Does not forgiving create bad karma? When something bad happens to you, is it karma? When something bad happens to people you have done you wrong, is that karma?
As always, all comments are welcome...

Well, holding on to things can cause emotional damage, but I don't think there is proof that it causes cancer. We can't take blame for everything bad that happens to us.
Karma-I believe in everyday Karma, that is if you're rude to someone, they will be rude back. As for Cosmic Karma, mmm...I don't know. How does Karma explain when children get cancer? What could a child do to deserve that? This was my biggest stumbling block in Christianity, too. If God is loving, why do children suffer? No one has the answers to theses questions, and you will drive yourself crazy if you think about them too much.
Forgiveness-We all know that to forgive is the "right" thing to do. But forgiveness is not a feeling you can make yourself feel. It's a place you might get to after you've visited a great many other emotions first, like anger. Forgiveness does feel alot better than anger, though. There are a lot of people in my life that I have been unable to forgive.
I'm a big believer in karma...but I still don't know why people get cancer. Sometimes it isn't for us to know, we are just left to deal. As for forgiveness, it's for our benefit that we should forgive, not for the benefit of the person who wronged us. Focusing on the crap will only create more of it. I wish focusing on ice cream worked the same way...
I think if God was really smart he (yes, I believe God is male) would allow bad stuff happening hinge on being good. It's a real flaw in his system now, and you would think...being God and all, he would have known that. This way, if I person had something bad happen to him/her, you could say,"well he/she had it coming" and really mean it.
Phil, your cancer was a freak random thing and even if you participated in the porn you are accused of viewing in the conference room at UPS, it wouldn't have been the reason you got it. I truly believe that. :)
Hi Eva, I do think getting cancer is mostly a random thing. I've met people who smoke who have lung cancer, and people who never smoked and also have it. If there is a God, which I don't think there is in the way that mankind has made Him/Her out to be, I think they have better things to do than decide who gets cancer and who gets MS or whatever. I try to live by the "Golden Rule" "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you". I do think there are many paths to 'heaven' or whatever you want to call it and that if you're a good person, that is a good thing. If you go around treating people like crap, well, watch out. The thing that really got me upset with the whole UPS thing is that there was this great injustice, and maybe being a libra, I have a strong sense of it. If I did do as they accused, I could accept that and would have deserved to be fired. I think that I let it cause me too much stress and that was not good for me.
